Rajnath Singh in Srinagar to review security situation at LoC, hinterland in J&K

Srinagar/UNI:  Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday arrived in this summer capital to review security situation along the Line of Control (LoC), International Border and hinterland in Jammu and Kashmir.

Singh, who was accompanied by Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat and Army Chief General MM Naravane, reached at Technical Airport in Srinagar on Friday afternoon after visiting forward areas and reviewed security situation along Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Union Territory of Ladakh in the morning.

Singh is on a two-day visit to Union Territories (UTs) of Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir to review security situation at Line of Actual Control (LAC) and Line of Control (LoC) from Friday.

Official sources said Singh on his arrival at the Technical Airport Srinagar was received by senior Army, police and civil administration officials.

They said Mr Singh will get detailed briefing about the present situation on the LoC and other security related matters in the hinterland from senior Army commanders at 15 Crops headquarters in Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar.

“The Defence Minsiter will also visit forward areas in J&K,” they said.
