Rajasthan BJP president tests positive for Covid-19

Jaipur/UNI: Rajasthan Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Satish Poonia here on Friday said he has tested positive for Covid-19 and is under home isolation.

"Yesterday, I went through a COVID-19 test despite being asymptomatic, but the report came positive and as per doctors' advice, I have isolated myself at my home," Poonia wrote in Hindi on his official twitter handle.

The 55-year-old leader asked all the people who came under his contact in past days to get tested for the virus.

Just two days ago, Deputy leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore was found infected.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan recorded 738 Covid-19 cases and seven more deaths from the virus in the past 24 hours.

With the new additions, the case tally in the desert state reached 86,965 while the death toll surged to 1,102.
