Rahul Shrivastava appointed as India's next envoy to Romania

New Delhi/IBNS: Rahul Shrivastava has been appointed as India's next ambassador to Romania, Ministry of External Affairs said on Friday.

"Shri Rahul Shrivastava (IFS: 1999), presently Joint Secretary in the Ministry, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to Romania," read a MEA statement.

"He is expected to take up the assignment shortly," read the statement.

He was a former Ambassador of India to Venezuela.

Rahul Shrivastava, who spent his younger years growing up in Odisha and attended Ravenshaw University in Cuttack and the National Institute of Technology, Raurkela, had at the age of 40  became India’s then youngest appointed Ambassador.
