Priyanka attacks BJP as rape-accused Kuldeep Sengar features in poster with saffron leaders

New Delhi, Aug 17 (IBNS): Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra slammed the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after rape-accused expelled saffron party MLA Kuldeep Sengar was seen in a poster which also features Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other right-wing outfit leaders.

Priyanka tweeted, "Though the CBI has given its report and the Supreme Court rebuked, rape-accused Kuldeep Sengar is still living in the hearts of BJP people. Sengar's photo can be seen with prominent BJP leaders. Will BJP criticise it?"

Two years ago, Sengar had allegedly raped a minor in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao. The case came back to limelight after the rape survivor met with an accident recently in Uttar Pradesh's Rae Bareli.

Sengar is also an accused in the accident. The rape-survivor along with her kins and lawyers were injured. The victim is still critical.

After a huge uproar across the nation, the Supreme Court took cognizance of the case and asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to complete the case within 45 days. The top court has also shifted the case from Uttar Pradesh to Delhi.

Sengar has also been named in the chargesheet filed by the CBI.

Amid political pressures from all corners of the country, the BJP expelled Sengar just before the Supreme Court had given its direction to the CBI.
