President Ram Nath Kovind on 2-day Nashik visit

Nashik, Oct 8 (UNI) President Ramnath Kovind will visit this district on October 9 and 10, to attend the grand celebration and parade at Combat Army Aviation Training School, near here.

According to a statement issued here, the President, along with his wife, will reach Nashik on Oct 9 and stay at the Government Rest House.

Thereafter, Kovind, who is also the Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces, will be honoured at the Artillery Center on Nashik Road.

He would give away the prestigious 'President's colour' awards to Army Aviation Corps, during a grand ceremonial parade on October 10, held in acknowledgement of the meritorious service, rendered by the Army Aviation Corps over the years, by the Supreme commander of the Armed forces.

President's Colours is a visible symbol of excellence and has been earned through dedication and worthy contribution, both during war and peace.

The Army aviation corps is headed by Director General and Colonel Commandant of Army Aviation, Lieutenant General Kanwal Kumar, AVSM.

The ceremonial parade will be commanded by Brigadier Sarabjeet Singh Bawa Bhalla, Commandant, Combat Army Aviation Training School.

"The Army Aviation Corps has proved their mettle from the icy heights of Siachen, Galcier to the Rann of Kutch and lived up to the motto of 'Swift and Sure,' " said the statement.

Various senior dignitaries are expected to grace the occasion, which will also include a flypast by the Army Aviation Helicopters.

The President will also visit Trimbakeshwar, one of the 12th Jyotirlings in the country, about 20 km away from here.
