Police complaint filed against Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal over his NRC remarks

New Delhi: A police complaint has been filed against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for allegedly "disturbing peace by threatening migrants from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar" over the implementation of National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the national capital, media reports said.

The complaint has been lodged by ex-Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Kapil Mishra and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Neelkanth Bakshi.

It has been alleged that Kejriwal has threatened the migrants of facing consequences if NRC is implemented in the national capital.

In another controversial remark, the Delhi Chief Minister on Wednesday said if NRC is implemented in the national capital, then BJP leader Manoj Tiwari would be the first person to leave the Union Territory.

The comment came from Kejriwal, the AAP chief, after Tiwari spoke about the implementation of NRC in Delhi.

The final draft of Assam NRC has left out 19 lakh people prompting the BJP to reject it.
