PM Modi urges people of Bengal to join his virtual Durga Puja celebration tomorrow
New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged the people of Bengal to join him virtually for Durga Puja celebrations on the occasion of Maha Shashti on Thursday.
PM Modi, who is still the only face the BJP can think of falling back to in registering its maiden electoral victory in West Bengal, will address people of the state at 10 am on Thursday on the occasion of 'Maha Shasthi'.
In two back-to-back tweets first in Bengali and then in English, PM Modi wrote: "Sisters and brothers of West Bengal,
Tomorrow, on the auspicious day of Maa Durga Pujo’s Mahashashti, I would join the Divine celebrations via video conferencing and shall also be extending my greetings to everyone. Do join the programme live!"
"Durga Puja is an auspicious occasion, which celebrates the victory of good over evil. We pray to Maa Durga to bless us with strength, happiness and good health," he wrote.

Though Durga Puja has been toned down this year amid the Covid-19 pandemic, particularly after the Calcutta High Court barred visitors from entering pandals, PM Modi's address will definitely be aimed at reaching out to the Bengali community of the state which has already witnessed gala Ram Navami festivals in the last few years.
