PM Modi to lay foundation for Bundelkhand expressway in Chitrakoot on Feb 29

Lucknow/UNI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the 296.07 kms long Bundelkhand expressway and distribute Kisan Credit Card(KKC) in Chitrakoot on Saturday.

Later, Modi will also distribute equipment to the differently-abled and senior citizens in Prayagraj.

During his five-hour stay in the state, the PM will first attend the programme in Chitrakoot and then will go to Prayagraj. UP Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, UP BJP president Swatantra Dev Singh along with several other state ministers will participate in both the programmes, confirmed a senior government official here on Friday.

In Prayagraj, the PM will be a part of the world record in the distribution of assistive aids and devices to the senior citizen and divyangjan.

A report from Chitrakoot said the PM's function will be held at Gonda village in Bharatkup area at around 1000 hrs when he will lay the foundation for the Bundelkhand expressway.

The Bundelkhand expressway of 296.07 kms will go across seven districts of Chitrakoot, Banda, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jalaun, Auriyya and Etawah to connect it with the Agra-Lucknow expressway. The four-lane green field expressway which can be extended up to 6 lane will be built at a cost of Rs 14849.09 crore and government has already acquired over 95 per cent of the required land.

The expressway will be supplementing the nodes of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial manufacturing corridor.
