PM Modi only meets suit-boot wearing people, he has no time for farmers: Congress
New Delhi, Sept 20 (IBNS): Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi only speaks to people wearing "suit-boot" and that he has no time for farmers or labourers.
"Modi only speaks to people wearing suit-boot. He never speaks to common people like farmers or carpenters. He only speaks to well dressed bureaucrats," Rahul said while addressing a Kisan Samman Rally at Ramlila Ground in the national capital.
"Modi ji says that there should be Make in India, but there's no place for labourers and farmers in his Make in India. This is not Make in India, this is 'Take in India'," he said.
Rahul said that the Congress party will keep fighting for the farmers.
The rally on Sunday was held to honour farmers and party workers for forcing the NDA government to withdraw its land ordinance.
Rahul Gandhi said, "Congress fought for farmers and won. The fight for Congress party is not over. It's a fight for the victory of farmers."
Taking the rally further, Congress President Sonia Gandhi said the victory is not only that of the Congress party, its the victory for all the farmers.
Criticising PM Modi, Sonia said: "Farmers suffering since PM Modi came to power. Prime Minister has no time to solve their problems. Farmers' conditions are deteriorating. There is problem of drought, water, electricity."
She said Modi government is "making fake promises like always."
"They (Centre) are neither interested nor have time to address your issues; they have time to listen to issues of their industrialist friends," the Congress President said.
