PM Modi lands in Kolkata; to dedicate permanent museum on Netaji on his 124th birth anniversary

Kolkata/IBNS: Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi on Saturday landed in Kolkata where he will inaugurate a permanent museum dedicated to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his 124th birth anniversary.

West Bengal Chief Minsiter Mamata Banerjee also held a 6 km long march, from Shyambazar in the north to Red Road in the heart of the city, to mark Netaji's 124th birth anniversary year.

Both the events gain significance in view of the state assembly election just months away.

PM Modi will be the chief guest in inauguration of a permanent exhibition on Subhas Chandra Bose at the Victoria Memorial.

According to reports, famous singer Usha Uthup will sing Tagore song "Ekla Cholo Re" along with a choir in the event that is scheduled in the evening.

A group of school children will also sing 'Kadam Kadam Barhaye Ja', which Netaji's Indian National Army song (INA) composed and used as their marching tune in 1942.

Singer Papon will present a song titled 'Subhashji Subhashji'., also an INA song hailing Netaji as their leader and praising his love for India.

Ahead of his journey to Kolkata, the Prime Minister tweeted:
