New Delhi/IBNS: Taking a jibe at the Prime Minister, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday said Narendra Modi called him to do "Mann Ki Baat (Talks from the heart)" instead of talking anything substantial amid the Covid-19 crisis.

Soren took to Twitter to say, "Today the Prime Minister had called me. He only did Mann Ki Baat. It would have been better if he had spoken and listened to Kaam Ki Baat (substantial talks)."

आज आदरणीय प्रधानमंत्री जी ने फोन किया। उन्होंने सिर्फ अपने मन की बात की। बेहतर होता यदि वो काम की बात करते और काम की बात सुनते।

Soren, who is a political opponent of the Prime Minister's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), took a dig at Modi's radio show "Mann Ki Baat" where he addresses the nation on the last Sunday of every month.

Countering Soren, his Andhra Pradesh counterpart from YSRCP, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy tweeted, "Dear @HemantSorenJMM, I have great respect for you, but as a brother I would urge you, no matter what ever our differences are, indulging in such level of politics would only weaken our own nation."

"In this war against Covid-19, these are the times not to point fingers but to come together and strengthen the hands of our Prime Minister to effectively combat the pandemic."

Modi, the most popular Indian politician, is facing massive criticism over the second wave of the pandemic, which has led various hospitals overwhelmed with patients, for holding rallies in election-bound states in March-April and allegedly not focussing on the crisis.

The central government has been slammed over the shortage of Oxygen supplies in hospitals and also the export of Covid-19 vaccines to foreign countries at a time the inoculation drive took a hit due to shortage of the doses.

As per various media reports, the Covid-19 toll in the country is a mask hiding a much greater figure of deaths apparently occurred due to the contagion.

In various images, pyres were seen burning round the clock while several parking lots were converted into crematoriums.
