New Delhi, Oct 6 (UNI) In another blow to the Delhi Congress, former four-time Congress MLA from Chandni Chowk Parlad Singh Sawhney on Sunday joined the Aam Aadmi Party, in presence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other party leaders.

Kejriwal welcomed the veteran politician into the party and expressed that he was happy over the development.

Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, who is also the Delhi Election In-charge, was also present on the occasion.

Sawhney said he was impressed by the AAP's work and has joined to contribute for the city's development.

The 68-year-old was a close aide of late Congress leader and three times Delhi Chief Minister, Sheila Dikshit.

Sawhney was the Congress MLA from Chandni Chowk Assembly Constituency from 1998 to 2015, when he lost to Alka Lamba.
