Pakistan Minister raises Kashmir issue during SAARC video conference on COVID19
New Delhi/IBNS: Pakistan on Sunday raised the Kashmir issue as its representative joined the video conference of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) leaders to combat the Coronavirus outbreak challenge as it said that all restrictions in the Indian region should be 'lifted' to tackle COVID 19.
Two cases of Coronavirus-infected patients have been reported from Jammu and Kashmir.
Pakistan's Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza attended the video-conference instead of PM Imran Khan.
Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday proposed to create an emergency fund, to meet the challenges posed by the spread of Novel Coronavirus.
"I propose we create a COVID-19 Emergency Fund. This could be based on voluntary contributions from all of us. India can start with an initial offer of 10 million US dollars for this fund," he said.
The Prime Minister was interacting with SAARC leaders via video-conferencing this evening, in a bid to chalk out a common strategy to tide over the viral infection.
"We are assembling a Rapid Response team of doctors and specialists in India, along with testing kits and other equipment. They will be on stand-by, to be placed at your disposal, if required," Modi said.

Looking ahead, he said, all SAARC countries could create a Common Research Platform, to coordinate research on controlling epidemic diseases within the South Asian region.
The Indian Council of Medical Research can offer help in coordinating such an exercise, Modi told the SAARC leaders.
