NR Congress to merge with BJP in future, Rangaswamy will be isolated: Narayanasamy

Puducherry/UNI: Former Chief Minister V Narayanasamy has predicted that the NR Congress will merge with the BJP in future leaving its president N Rangaswamy isolated.

In a WhatsApp video, released to the media on Tuesday evening, he said NR Congress has forged an alliance with the BJP but it is going alone for their  election campaign.

The NR Congress stands for statehood in Puducherry, while the BJP’s election manifesto stands clear that statehood will not be granted to Puducherry.

As such, will Rangaswamy fight against the Narendra Modi government at the Centre, he asked.

Narayanasamy said the BJP-led NDA government has stripped the powers of the elected government in Delhi as it was handed over to Delhi’s Lt.Governor while the same is expected to occur in Pondicherry.

He said if the BJP alliance comes to power in the UT, Puducherry will lose its separate identity and culture and people from other states will be appointed in government posts.

Further, communal clashes and division will be there and individual freedom will be lost as all public sector undertakings in the Union Territory will be privatized, he alleged.

Narayanasamy said that the Secular Democratic Alliance (SDA) alone will be able to protect Puducherry from these dangers and urged the people to bring the SDA to power in the Apr 6 assembly election.
