Guwahati: To help the people during the COVID-19 pandemic situation the Tuensang district police in Nagaland has taken a unique initiative by installing feedback, complaint boxes at various points in the district.

The Tuensang district police has installed several feedback, complaint and suggestion boxes at various points at Tuensang town as a means to interact with the citizens during the pandemic situation.

Tuensang district Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Nigam said that, it is a pilot project and district police have placed the feedback boxes at main points near Welcome gate, Clock tower, Bazar point, High school junction and St John junction in Tuensang town.

“As everyone knows, during this pandemic time when public gatherings and visiting offices or public places, one to one contact is not advisable and people are finding it very difficult to register their complaints, share their problems with police. So we have taken the initiative to install feedback, complaint boxes at the main points. It is just a pilot project and we have planned to install such boxes in other urban, semi-urban and rural areas in the district also,” Amit Nigam said.

Amit Nigam further said that, everyone can drop their complaint, suggestions, feedback or anything whatever they want to share with police in these boxes.

“This will be directly monitored by SP office Tuensang on daily basis. Prompt action will be taken. After installing the boxes, we have received good response from the general people,” Amit Nigam said.

Nagaland on Friday had reported 192 new COVID-19 cases and five deaths.
