Kolkata/IBNS: Actor-turned Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mithun Chakraborty on Thursday held his first roadshow at Saltora in poll-bound West Bengal.

Chakraborty's roadshow attracted massive crowd as the Bollywood superstar plunged into the political campaign for the BJP with a day left for the polls to begin.

Ever since Chakraborty joined the BJP on Mar 7, speculations of him becoming the saffron party's Chief Ministerial face against the Trinamool Congress (TMC) have gained fuel.

However, the BJP is going to polls with no CM face opposing West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

In various television interviews, Chakraborty has said he would reduce the cost of electricity and make every cabin in government hospitals air-conditioned if the BJP comes to power.

The Bollywood actor, has, however, remained tight-lipped on whether he wants to become the CM.

West Bengal will go to the first phase of polls on Saturday.
