Making Life Easier: LED street lights installed in Srinagar under Smart Cities programme

Srinagar: With an aim to improve life in Srinagar city,  Jammu and Kashmir administration has taken the initiative to install LED street lights  in the city under the Smart Cities mission.

Speaking to ANI, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, District Magistrate, Srinagar said the work of installing LED street lights were done for the last five to six months.

"The work to install LED street lights was going on in the city for the last five to six months. The old and dysfunctional lights in the market areas across the city were removed and new LED lights have been installed," Choudhary told ANI.

The initiative will help the local businessmen.

The administration took the project at a time when the city was facing COVID-19 imposed lockdown.
