Maharashtra totally locks down various jails

Mumbai/UNI:  As a preventive measure to fight against Coronavirus, Maharashtra Home ministry has decided to implement total lockdown of various jails which were gripped by the virus state home minister Anil Deshmukh said.

Deshmukh on Thursday night directed to totally lockdown Mumbai central Jail,Byculla District Central Jail,Thane Central Jail, Kakyan District Jail and Yerwada central Jail.

He further directed all jail superintendants of these jails to lockdown main gate of the jails and start duty in two shifts and provide them accommodation and food inside of the jail premises.

He added that mobile and telephone numbers of top official of jail has been given to family members of these employees and if they have any problems they may call on these numbers.
