Maharashtra: Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray plans to give COVID vaccine to three lakh citizens in the state every day

Mumbai/UNI: Maharashtra state Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is planning to give covid vaccine to three lakh citizens in the state every day.

While speaking at a meeting with all the Divisional Commissioners on immunization through telecommunication system on Thursday .

The Center has approved 134 private hospitals in the state for vaccination.

Thackeray also said that in the next three to four months, vaccination will be given to everyone in the priority group by increasing the speed of vaccination.

The rate of wastage of covid vaccine is six per cent in Maharashtra.

Taking into account the coming summer period ,he also suggested that drinking water, toilets and protection from the sun should be set up at all vaccination centers in the state .

State Health Minister Rajesh Tope gave necessary instructions to the health department regarding vaccination, covid awareness, hospitalization and number of medical staff.

However the, the state government is trying to develop a vaccine to prevent corona virus infection in the Haffkin Institute, which is under the jurisdiction of the state government.

With the approval of the Central Government, production can be started within a year, said Dr. Sandeep Rathore, Managing Director, Halffkin Bio-Pharma Corporation.

Under this, one crore doses of Covid vaccine can be produced every month.

The production could take place at Haffkin's Parel or Pimpri Center, which would require a small amount of additional manpower, he added.

It my recalled that Maharashtra state become Covid hot pot state across the country due to second second wave of Covid pandemic .

However,the state government has taken numbers of measures and strict restrictions to dealt with the situation.

Maharashtra recorded 25,833 fresh cases of coronavirus over the last 24 hours, its highest since the pandemic hit the country last year.

During the same period, 58 deaths have taken place in the state.
