LG Manoj Sinha assures to remove illegal encroachments from Waqf properties in J&K

Srinagar/UNI: Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory (UT) Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday said that all illegal encroachments will be removed from the Waqf properties.

A Raj Bhavan spokesman said this afternoon that Member, Central Waqf Council and Chairperson, Waqf Development Committee, Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, called on Lt Governor Sinha at the Civil Secretariat here today.

Dr Andrabi briefed the Lt Governor about the working of the Waqf Board and drew his attention towards the issues related to protection of Waqf properties.

The Lt Governor advised Dr Andrabi to take requisite measures for continuous improving the working of the Board and involve all stakeholders for effective implementation of Educational and Women Welfare Schemes for skill development.

He assured her that all the efforts will be made to ensure the removal of illegal encroachments and protection of the Waqf properties in J&K.
