Kolkata: Powerful explosion blows off clubhouse's roof at Beliaghata, no casualties reported

Kolkata/IBNS: A portion of a roof of a two-storey club building was blown off following a powerful explosion in Kolkata's Beliaghata Main Road area on Tuesday morning, reports said.

According to reports, locals heard a loud explosion at around 7 am. and found a part of the roof of Beliaghata Gandhi Math Friends Circle Club badly damaged.

After being informed, police from Beliaghata Police Station rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area.

Officials confirmed that no casualty was reported in the incident.

Police said that city police's detective department officials, bomb disposal squad and forensic experts were on the way to the scene.

"After the experts examine the explosion site, we can confirm the exact reason behind the explosion," a Kolkata Police officer said.
