Thiruvananthapuram/UNI: The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) here on Saturday summoned Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad to appear before it, in a defamation case filed by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor representing the Lok Sabha seat here.

The Court asked the minister to appear before it on May 2 in connection with the defamation case filed by Tharoor in December 2018 alleging that the Minister made derogatory remarks against his wife Sunanda Pushkar's death.

Seeking an unconditional apology from the Minister, the MP said the Minister posted a video clip with false statements in the social media.
