Karnataka Schools Reopen

Karnataka to reopen schools on Jan 14

Bengaluru/UNI: Schools and Colleges in Karnataka, which had remained closed since the nationwide lockdown was imposed to curb spread of corona pandemic, will be reopened on Jan 14, Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwath Narayan, who is also Minister for Higher Education, said on Sunday.

The colleges in Karnataka will be reopening after a gap of nearly 10 months and the classes for first, second and third-year students will resume after the 'Sankranti' festival, he added.

Speaking to newsmen on Sunday, he said that the Schools reopened from January 1 for students of classes 6 to 12. While regular classes were resumed for students of class 10 and the rest of the students have only been allowed to attend the Vidyagama programme.

The dates for the Karnataka PUC and SSLC exams have also been announced by the state education department. The dates of the exams have been confirmed by Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar.

The SSLC examination would be conducted in the first week of June while the PUC II examination will be held in May.
