Karnataka: Road accident claims life

Chitradurga , Oct 27 (UNI) One person was killed and 15 were injured when a Volvo bus collision with a transport truck near Kapile Village on Pune-Bangalore National Highway on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Venkatesh (40).

According to Police, due to the impact of accident the bus caught fire but the timely act of the bus driver all bus passengers were evacuated, although more than 15 passengers received burn injuries.

They were shifted to nearby Chitradurga government hospital for treatment, police said.

The bus was on its way from Bangalore to Ballari and truck was on its way to Bangalore from Challakere.

A case was registered and further investigations were underway, police added.
