Karnataka: Five, including 2 women arrested for selling infants

Mangaluru/UNI: Police on Friday arrested a man and two women in connection with the illegal sale of infants.

Police said that they have been identified as Rayan, Mulki, Kavitha and Mariamma and all the three were arrested from a hotel in Mangaluru.

It has been alleged that Rayan had sold a five-month-old child from Hassan to Kavitha of Karkala for Rs 5 lakhs.

Kavitha in turn had reportedly sold the baby to Mariamma.

Mangaluru police have registered a case in this connection.
