A protest erupted outside a school in Gujarat's Ahmedabad city after a Class 10 student was stabbed to death by a ninth-grade boy.

The 15-year-old victim, who belonged to the Sindhi community, was rushed to a hospital, where he died on Tuesday night.

The attacker reportedly belonged to the Muslim community.

A large number of Sindhi community members assembled outside the school on Wednesday morning.

Parents,  Hindu organisations, and activists from the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) protested outside the school.

According to reports, the protesters vandalised the school premises over the attack.

Police deployed a heavy force at the school to maintain law and order, reported India Today.

The attacker has been taken into custody.

Parents and Hindu groups have also filed complaints against the school principal and management, demanding accountability for the incident, reported India Today.

A further investigation into the incident is currently going on.
