Kolkata/IBNS: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Jagat Prakash Nadda on Thursday slammed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over her choice of words in attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Nadda in a public meeting at Nabadwip said, "Yesterday, the language which Mamata Banerjee used for Prime Minister and Home Minister indicates that she is not representing the culture of Bengal.... We have to restore the culture of Bengal."

Reiterating the BJP's commitment to implement PM Kisan Samman Nidhi in the state, Nadda on Thursday said, "We will request you to give rest to the Mamata government and bless the BJP government in the month of May. After the formation of the BJP government, the farmers of Bengal will get the benefit of the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana."

The BJP chief, who landed in Kolkata last night, on Thursday launched his party's "Lokkho Sonar Bangla" campaign at the election office in Hastings.

While Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is seeking to return to power for the third straight term, the BJP is targeting to form the government in the state for the first time.
