Jharkhand: Jawan martyred in IED blast in Lohardaga, CM pays tributes

Lohardaga/Ranchi/UNI: A jawan was martyred following an IED blast in far flung Dundru forest located under Serengdag Police Station area of the district on Tuesday.

Police said a search operation was launched based on a tip off regarding the movement of Maoists in the forest when an IED exploded, inflicting serious injuries to the jawan of a small action team, Duleshwar Prasad.

He was immediately airlifted to Medica Hospital in Ranchi where he succumbed to his injuries.

Later, his body was brought to JAP one grounds in the capital where Chief Minister Hemant Soren paid his tributes to the martyr jawan.

Police said a search and combing operation was launched in Dundru forest when the Maoists executed the landmine blast in which the jawan was martyred.
