Jammu/UNI: Two fire fighters suffered critical injuries while three of them are still under debris of three-storied building that collapsed on Wednesday after a major fire broke out in a wooden kiosk here.

"Three of our men are buried under the debris and the rescue operation is on," V K Singh, Director General, Fire and Emergency Services here told UNI.

"A fire broke out at around 0515 hours in a wooden kiosk at Gole Puli in Talab Tillo area," an official of Fire and Emergency Services said.

He said that the inferno spread wildly due to wooden logs at the stall and a three-storied building was also collapsed in the fire.

"Two fire fighters suffered serious injuries and some of them were trapped in the debris of the collapsed building during fire control and rescue operation," he added.

So far 10 fire tenders have been pressed into service to douse the flames, which are out of control, while operation was in progress.
