Jaish-e-Mohammad commander Saifullah and two other suspected Pakistani terrorists were killed during an anti-militancy operation conducted by the Indian Army in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district, officials said on Saturday.

According to reports, Saifullah was active in the region for several months.

“The terrorist who has been neutralised in Kishtwar is a big catch. He is Saifullah, a top commander of Jaish-e-Mohammad who was operating in the area for many months,” an official told India Today.

The joint operation is currently being conducted by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police.

Based on intelligence input, the operation began in Chatru forest area of Kishtwar district.

The Army's White Knight Corps wrote on X: "In the ongoing operations at #Chhatru, Kishtwar, despite bad and inclement weather, two more Pakistani terrorists have been eliminated. A large quantity of war like stores including One AK and One M4 rifle have been recovered."

The Army said the operation was conducted despite hostile terrain and adverse weather.

Security forces recovered a large number of arms, ammunition and explosives from the site of the encounter.
