Jammu and Kashmir: R-Day arrangements finalized in Ganderbal

 Srinagar: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today finalized arrangements for smooth celebration of forth-coming Republic Day 2021 function, here at a meeting.

It was informed that the main function shall be held at Qamaria Ground, Ganderbal where Chief Guest will hoist National Flag and will take salute on the march-past to be presented by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, Fire and Emergency Services, NCC and School Children. Special Cultural programmes shall also be presented which will be followed by the prize distribution ceremony.

Various necessary arrangements were discussed in the meeting including security plan, drinking water facility, cleanliness and sanitation, seating arrangement, traffic management, heating and power supply besides others at the venue.

The DC on the occasion directed all district heads to ensure adherence to Covid-19 guidelines by maintaining prescribed spacing in seating arrangements for the participants during the function.

Meanwhile, DC also reviewed the snow clearance work at the venue and Keeping the weather forecast into consideration, the DC instructed concerned to keep their men and machinery in ready mode and keep all snow related equipments stationed at the ground for prompt response in case there is more snowfall.

The PDD and PHE departments were directed to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply besides the Health department was ordered to deploy doctors and paramedics along with Ambulance and first aid at the venue.

It was also revealed that the Republic Day rehearsal will be held on January 24, 2021. Among others the meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Farooq Ahmed Baba, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, SDM Kangan, Chief Medical Officer, Executive Engineers of PWD (R&B), PHE, and PDD, besides other district and sector level officers and officials.
