Jammu and Kashmir: Police arrest interstate drug peddler in Srinagar

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday arrested an interstate drug peddler and recovered a huge quantity of poppy straw from him in the city.

The interstate drug peddler has been identified as Ajay Paul, a resident of Kapurthala, Punjab, who was arrested along with 11.8 kg of poppy straw (Fukki) in Srinagar on Tuesday.

A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was registered at Police Station Parimpora, police said.

"One interstate drug peddler, namely Ajay Paul S/o Gulzar R/o Kapurthala, Punjab, was arrested with about 11.8 kg of poppy straw (Fukki). FIR No. 135/2023 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act registered in Parimpora PS," Srinagar police tweeted.
