Srinagar, Oct 29 (UNI) Militants on Tuesday attacked a security force patrolling party in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, official sources said.

They said militants fired at a security force patrolling party at Drubgam in Pulwama. “The security forces retaliated, ensuing in a brief exchange of fire,” they said, adding no one was injured in the exchange of fire.

They said the militants manage to escape from the spot, adding additional security forces have been sent from nearby camps and a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) launched in the area.

The attack on security forces comes on a day when a 23-member European Union Parliamentary delegation is visiting Kashmir valley to assess the situation post abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35 A by the Centre on August 5.
