New Delhi: A special court on Thursday said former Union Finance and Home Minister, P Chidambaram, will have to remain in Tihar jail over the INX Media case till Oct 17, media reports said.

The court has allowed home-cooked food to be served to Chidambaram two times per day.

Also the court has agreed to the medical check up of the former Finance Minister twice a day.

The Congress leader was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) more than 40 days ago from his Jor Bagh house in the national capital in the case.

Chidambaram is in jail for allegedly committing corruption by facilitating a huge flow of foreign funds to INX media when he was the Finance Minister. He was sent to Tihar jail on Sept 5.

The CBI has also laid allegations on Chidambaram’s son Karti Chidambaram for receiving huge kickbacks for facilitating the deal.
