Hyderabad: Same-sex couple ties knot, ceremony attended by friends, family

Hyderabad witnessed an unique marriage recently when a same-sex couple  made their relationship official by exchanging rings and tying the knot at a ceremony which was attended by their family and close friends.

The ceremony was held at a resort located close to Hyderabad.

The couple was identified as Supriyo Chakraborty (31) and Abhay Dang (34).

Supriyo is from Kolkata and sharing several images of their marriage, he wrote on Instagram: "subhay."

According to reports, the ceremony followed Bengali and Punjabi wedding rituals.

The couple has been into an eight-year-long relationship and has now officially become ‘husband and husband’. The ceremony was officiated by a transvestite person, Sophia David, from Hyderabad, reports India Today.
