New Delhi/IBNS: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Cabinet reshuffle today evening, Union health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has resigned, said media reports.

According to media reports, the prime minister had carried a month-long review of the performance of the ministers. Based on this, several ministers are likely to lose their ministerial berths or see a cutback in the responsibilities they were given while some can see an upgrade, the media had reported.

Dr Harsh Vardhan's resignation comes in the wake of second wave of Covid-19 which many public health experts said turned chaotic due to lack of foresight and mismanagement by the government.
