Haryana moves towards hung Assembly as Congress and BJP lock horns in a close fight
Chandigarh/IBNS: As the counting of votes progressed for Haryana Assembly elections, so far BJP has won 13 seats and is leading in 26 seats while Congress has won 11 seats and is leading in 22 seats, according to the latest updates.
As the state moves towards a hung assembly, all eyes are set on 31-year-Dushyant Chautala's Jananayak Janata Party(JJP), which has won five seats and is leading in another five.
As Congress and BJP are engaged in a close fight and none of them showing signs of achieving the majority mark of 46 seats, Dushyant Chautala is expected to play the role of kingmaker.
Rejecting the speculations that he might play the role of a kingmaker in this Assembly election in Haryana, Chautala said, "I am neither the king nor the king-maker but I am here to serve people."
Meanwhile, Haryana Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda has urged all the non-BJP parties to unite and form the next government.
"I urge all the non-BJP parties to come together and form the next state government," Hooda said.
BJP state president Subhash Barala has stepped down from his party post amid the counting of votes.
