New Delhi/UNI: The Supreme Court on Thursday junked review petitions filed against its July 5 verdict which had upheld conviction of 10 people involved in the Haren Pandya murder case.

A bench, comprising Justices Arun Mishra and Vineet Saran, rejected the review petitions filed by 10 of the 12 convicts.

The apex court said, "We have perused the pleas and the record of appeals and is convinced that the order, of which review has been brought does not suffer from any error."

On July 5, the top court had sentenced the accused to life imprisonment after setting aside their acquittal by the Gujarat High Court.

Pandya, a minister in the then Narendra Modi-led state government in Gujarat, was shot dead on Mar 26, 2003 in Ahmedabad near Law Garden during morning walk.

As per the CBI, he was murdered to avenge the 2002 communal riots in the state.
