Giridih: Maoists set 3 JCB machines on fire

Giridih/UNI: Ultras belonging to the proscribed CPI Maoists set on fire three JCB machines involved in a road construction project under Bhelwaghati Police Station area of this district.

Police said that a group of ultras equipped with arms reached the spot on the bordering areas of Bihar and Jharkhand and poured kerosene to set the vehicles on fire and later easily went towards the forest.

Upon receiving information a police team on Monday morning reached the spot and inquired into the incident.

Police said the construction work on a 36 km road, from Pojha to Patharia,had started a few days ago. The work had been was stopped in the wake of lockdown.
Police suspect demand of levy was the main reason behind the incident.
