Former BJP MLA joins Congress in Assam

Guwahati: Ahead of the assembly polls in Assam, former BJP MLA Sambhu Singh Mallah has joined Congress.

The former BJP MLA of Ratabari assembly constituency in Assam’s Karimganj district had joined the Congress party during a programme held in Karimganj in presence of AICC General Secretary and Assam In-charge Jitendra Singh and other Congress leaders on Sunday.

Sambhu Singh Mallah was elected twice to the Assam Legislative Assembly in 1996 and 2006 from Ratabari constituency.

Apart from the former BJP MLA, few other BJP, AIUDF leaders had also joined the Congress party.
