Forest personnel killed in rhino attack in Assam’s Kaziranga National Park

Guwahati/IBNS: A forest department personnel was killed in a rhino attack in Assam’s Kaziranga National Park (KNP).

The deceased forest personnel was identified as Moheswar Hazarika.

According to the reports, the rhino attacked Moheswar Hazarika who was a game watcher under Agoratoli forest range, while he was on duty at Siga highland area inside the national park.

Following the incident, other forest staff had immediately admitted him at the hospital, but he was declared brought dead.

Kaziranga National Park Director P Sivakumar said that the incident was happened inside the park at around 9-15 pm and he was immediately rushed to the Bokakhat civil hospital.

It is the second rhino attack incident inside the park within a year.

In March 2020, a game watcher was killed in similar rhino attack incident under Kohora range in the park.
