Guwahati/IBNS: Five girls including two national level kick boxers have reportedly joined banned militant outfit United Liberation Front of Asom – Independent (ULFA-I).

The two national level kick boxers have announced their decisions of joining ULFA-I in a video.

According to the reports, kickboxers Nayanmani Chetia and Sabita Chetia along with three girls became untraceable since Tuesday.

The family members have appealed to the girls to return back to their homes.

A top official of Assam police said that ULFA-I had recently announced a unilateral ceasefire, but the outfit is continuing its recruitment process.

The Assam government is in touch with ULFA-I chief Paresh Baruah alias Paresh Asom to hold peace talks.

Earlier, Assa Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the government is in touch with Paresh Baruah and trying to hold peace talks with the outfit.
