FIR filed against Dilip Ghosh over his remark against 'CAA protesters'

Kolkata/IBNS: An FIR has been lodged against Bengal BJP chief  Dilip Ghosh over his recent remark made against anti-CAA protesters.

The FIR was lodged on a complaint by TMC leader Krishnendu Banerjee at Ranaghat Police station, News 18 reported.
On Sunday, addressing a public rally in Nadia district of West Bengal, Ghosh had criticised Mamata Banerjee government "for not opening fire and ordering a lathi-charge" and said BJP governments in Uttar Pradesh, Assam and Karnataka shot the CAA NRC protesters like dogs.

"Mamata Banerjee has no guts to take action against those who had resorted to arson. Those who damaged the public properties must be shot and killed like our governments did in Uttar Pradesh and Assam," said Ghosh.

The comment triggered a controversy and even party colleague Babul Supriyo reacted against it and tweeted: "BJP, as a party has nothing to do with what a DIlipGhosh may hv said. It is a figment of his imagination&BJP Govts in UP, Assam hv NEVER EVER resorted to shooting people for whatever reason whatsoever. Very irresponsible of DilipDa to hv said what he said."
