New Delhi, Dec 1 (IBNS): Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu has said that entire world is aware and has experienced the evil consequences of the terrorism.

He was addressing the 52nd Raising Day Ceremony of Boarder Security Force (BSF), here on Friday.

The Director General of BSF, Shri K.K. Sharma and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

The Vice President said that the discipline and the physical fitness was displayed with smart parade done by all the BSF jawans.

He further said that all the jawans have displayed their strengths and preparedness. Their service is exemplary and the country is proud of them, he added.

The Vice President said that they remain on the borders even in most difficult situations like sandy disserts of Rajasthan, snowy peaks of Kashmir and slippery areas of Rann of Gujarat.

He further said that their roles in UN peace keeping missions, their success of the sports and a wide range of social welfare programs make them different.

It would be fair to say that we can go to sleep only when they wake up, he added.

The Vice President said that while working as ‘India’s First Line of Defence’, 1856 BSF personnel have made their supreme sacrifice on the line of duty.

He further said that more than 2000 gallantry medals are recorded in this force's account and this sacrifice and this honor is the heritage of our nation on which the country is proud.

"We salute the forces that have made supreme sacrifice in the line of their duty," he added.

The Vice President said that ours’ is an ancient culture and we never attacked any country. India is very strong in its cultural heritage and welfare of all human beings is its motto.

He further said that India wants to have good relations with all its neighbours but one of its neighbours wants to create problems including intruding in to its land. He further said that the neighbour is not taking any steps to tackle terrorism and they fund, encourage and promote it.

The danger of terror is experienced by everyone on the globe, he added.

The Vice President said that terrorism has no caste, no religion and there is nothing like good terrorist or bad terrorist.

He further said that terrorist is enemy of the mankind.

"Entire world has to understand this and try to resolve by taking stringent actions through the United Nations," he added.
