Election Commission removes 3 senoir police officials ahead of 3rd phase of Bengal polls on Apr 6

Kolkata/UNI: Ahead of the 3rd phase of polling on April 6, the Election Commission has removed three senior police officers (IPS), including one from Diamond Harbour in South 24 Parganas with immediate effect and they have been barred from doing any poll related duty.

Alipurduar police super (north Bengal) Amitabh Maity, Diamond Harbour ( industrial) Deputy Police Commissioner Mithun Dey and Chandranagar ( Hooghly) Deputy police commissioner Tathagata Bose have been removed.

IPS Amit Kumar Singh was given charge at Alipurduar, Diamond (Industrial) was given to Deputy police super Shyamal Kumar Mondal and IPS Avishekh Modi was given charge at Chandranagar.

While Diamond Harbour and Alipuruduar will have the 3rd phase poll, Chandranagar will have voting in the 4th phase.
