New Delhi/UNI: Eight Malaysian Tablighi Jamaat (TJ) members were arrested while they were trying to board a Malindo Air Relief flight from Indira Gandhi International Airport, Government officials said here.

According to officials, these eight TJ persons have come here to participate in the religious congregation held at Nizamuddin and they have not completed their quarantine period here.

They were later handed over to Delhi Police for further action.

As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare protocol, they will be sent for quarantine in Delhi, the officials further added.

The Government has relaxed the lockdown norms for foreigners stranded here due to nationwide lockdown. If their COVID-19 test is negative, they can be sent back to their countries through Chartered Flights, arranged by the respective nations.
