ED conducts raids in Mumbai in connection with Covid-19 scam

Mumbai/UNI: A day after the Maharshatra government announced to set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into findings made by CAG, the supreme audit institution, into contracts given out by BMC worth Rs 12,000 crore during covid 19 pandemic, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday conducted raids across multiple locations in Mumbai in connection with the same.

The raids have been conducted against close aides of Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aaditya as well as an associate of Sanjay Raut.

The raids are underway at 15 premises across the city.

The raids are being conducted on the premises of Suraj Chavan, an associate of Aaditya Thackeray.

ED sleuths also searched the premises of IAS Sanjeev Jaiswal and 14 others, including Sujit Patkar, a close associate of Rajya Sabha MP and UBT sena spokesman Sanjay Raut.
