Drugs worth Rs 7.20 crore seized in Manipur’s Moreh

Guwahati: Security forces have seized huge quantity of contraband drugs worth Rs 7.20 crore and apprehended a drug peddler in Manipur’s Moreh area on Thursday.

According to the reports, based on specific information the troops of Assam Rifles and Manipur police had launched an operation at Khudengthabi check post and stopped a vehicle for checking.
 
Security personnel had recovered 20,000 WY tablets and 275 packets of heroine, brown sugar weighing about 3.300 kg, which were hidden inside the vehicle.
 
Security personnel had apprehended a drug peddler named Paominlen Haokip in connection with it.
 
The international value of the recovered WY tablets, heroine and brown sugar would be around Rs 7.20 crore.
 
The seized contrabands and the drug peddler were handed over to Moreh police station for further legal actions.
