Drugs worth Rs 28 crore seized in Manipur’s Moreh

Guwahati, Oct 5 : Security forces have seized different varieties of drugs worth over Rs 28 crore from Manipur’s Moreh area along the Indo-Myanmar border on Saturday.

According to reports, based on specific information, the troops of Assam Rifles and Manipur police launched an operation at a house of Moreh Ward No 3 area at around 12-30 pm.

During search operation, the security personnel recovered 5.04 lakh numbers of WY tablet, 15.269 kg crystal methamphetamine, 2.206 kg ketamine powder, 194 bottles phencydile from the house, which were hidden inside wooden walls, bed and roof of the house.

Security personnel apprehended a woman who is the owner of the house.

The value of the seized drugs would be around Rs 28 crore in international market.

The seized drugs and the woman were handed over to Moreh police station for further legal actions.
