Don’t queue up outside Covid-19 vaccination centres on May 1, Delhi yet to receive vaccines: Kejriwal

Under phase III of the ongoing Covid vaccination programme beginning from May 1 onwards across the country, all people in the 18-44 age group will be eligible for inoculation.

Addressing a digital press conference here, Kejriwal said the Delhi government is hopeful that the vaccines will reach by tomorrow or the day after.

"They have assured us. First, 3 lakh doses of Covishield vaccines will reach tomorrow or the day after tomorrow," he said.

The Delhi Chief Minister requested people not to queue up at the Covid-19 vaccination centres tomorrow.

He said as soon as the vaccines come in one or two days, the city government will make announcements through the media.

"Only then people who are registered can start coming to the centres," he said.

The Chief Minister further said the city government has asked both vaccine companies- Covishield and Covaxin- to provide 67 lakh doses each in three months.

The Delhi government will pay all its money and the people of the national capital will be given a free vaccine.

"If both companies give vaccines on time, then we will vaccinate the entire Delhi within 3 months. We have prepared the complete planning and infrastructure," he said.
